• pedestrians suddenly attempting to cross the road when the moving car is not able to stop
• turning into a side street without yielding to pedestrians about to cross the road
• illegal stopping on highways or roads reserved for motor vehicles
• failing to keep a safe distance while driving behind another car

HRK 500 FINE

• obstructing passengers from entering or alighting from a public transport vehicle
• performing vehicle actions which disturb other drivers or pedestrians
• disturbing other traffic participants by improper merging into traffic
• failing to reduce speed in difficult road conditions
• exceeding speed limit in a populated area by 10-30 km/h
• exceeding speed limit outside of a populated area by 30-50 km/h (repeating the offence within 24 months, driving at twice the permitted speed within a populated area higher than 100 km/h – HRK 500 fine or 60 days in prison + 5 penalty points + driving licence confiscated for 12 – 24 months)
• entering an intersection and obstructing the intersection or a pedestrian crossing + 1 penalty point
• overtaking or passing a tram along the middle of the roadway
• accelerating while being overtaken + 1 penalty point
• illegal parking or stopping
• failing to yield to pedestrians at crossings without traffic lights
• driving in the left lane on a highway or a road reserved for motor vehicles when not overtaking a line of vehicles

• obstructing children from entering or alighting from a vehicle for the transport of children + 1 penalty point
• exceeding the speed limit in a populated area by 30-50 km/h
• overtaking or passing from the right side, if prohibited + 1 penalty point
• slalom driving + 1 penalty point
• riding a motorcycle without a helmet

Minimum HRK 1,000 FINE

• disregarding a signal by a police officer + 1 penalty point
• failing to yield the right of way at an intersection + 2 penalty points + driving licence confiscated for 3 months

• overtaking or passing a vehicle turning left + 2 penalty points
• overtaking in a tunnel, on a bridge, a sharp bend, before a railway or pedestrian crossing + 2 penalty points + driving licence confiscated for up to 3 months
• overtaking a line of cars, a car overtaking another car, or overtaking using the emergency lane + 2 penalty points + driving licence confiscated for up to 3 months
• failing to yield to pedestrians at a crossing with the traffic lights showing red + 2 penalty points + driving licence confiscated for up to 3 months
• disregarding the traffic lights + 2 penalty points + driving licence confiscated for up to 3 months
• overtaking an adjacent vehicle yielding to a pedestrian
• turning or reversing on a highway or road reserved for motor vehicles + 1 penalty point
